Terms of use

The rules for using Rifilio: who can join, playing fair, and how we treat each other at the board and on calls.

The short version

  • You must be 16 or older, and you're responsible for your account.
  • Play fair: no help from a chess engine in games against people.
  • Be kind in chats, halls and calls. No harassment, hate, threats or spam.
  • Don't record other people's calls or voice notes without their permission.
  • We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
  • Rifilio is free, and offered as it is. Nigerian law applies.

These terms

Rifilio (rifilio.com) is run by Nueltek Global Resources, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria (“we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Rifilio. By creating an account or using Rifilio, you agree to them.

How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy policy.

Who can use Rifilio

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • You may have one account. Don't create others to get around a block, a report or a suspension.
  • You can't use Rifilio if we have suspended or removed your account before.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email, or with Google. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Never share a sign-in code; we will never ask you for one.

You're responsible for what happens on your account. Choose a username that doesn't pretend to be someone else and isn't offensive. If you think someone else has used your account, sign out in Settings and email contact@nueltekglobalresources.com.

Playing fair

  • In games against other people, play your own moves. Don't use a chess engine, an analysis tool, or another person's help while the game is on.
  • Don't try to win by breaking Rifilio: deliberately disconnecting, sending faked moves or clocks, or using bugs. If you find a bug, tell us.
  • The computer opponents are for practice. Those games aren't on your record, and anything goes.

How we treat each other

Rifilio brings strangers together in chats, halls and voice calls, so these rules matter. Don't:

  • harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
  • post hateful content, or attack people for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality;
  • send sexual content, or contact anyone in a sexual way;
  • share someone else's private information, such as where they live;
  • record, save or share another person's voice call or voice note without their permission;
  • send spam, scams, advertising, or links meant to trick people;
  • pretend to be another person, or to be part of the Rifilio team;
  • break the law, or encourage anyone else to.

If someone bothers you, block them: they can no longer contact you or watch your games. Report anything that breaks these rules with Report, on the message, the voice note or the player.

What you post

Your messages, voice notes and profile picture stay yours. You give us permission to store them, process them and show them to the people they're meant for, only to run Rifilio, for as long as the Privacy policy says we keep them.

Your games' moves and results are part of Rifilio's history. Anyone who can see a game can replay it.

You're responsible for what you post, and you must have the right to post it.

Reports and suspensions

We review reports and may remove content, end a game, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. A suspended account can't sign in. For serious or repeated breaches, we may remove the account.

If you think we got it wrong, email contact@nueltekglobalresources.com from the address on your account, and we'll look at it again.

The service

Rifilio is free. We work to keep it running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features, pause some of them for a while (for example, starting new games during maintenance), or stop offering Rifilio. When we can, we'll tell you on Rifilio first.

Voice calls depend on your device, your browser and your network. Sometimes a call won't connect.

Don't interfere with Rifilio: no attempts to break in, overload it, copy it in bulk, or use automated tools other than an ordinary browser.

Ending your use

You can stop using Rifilio at any time, and delete your account yourself in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we have to by law.

Our responsibility

Rifilio is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, for what other players say or do, or for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as network failures.

Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer under Nigerian law.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please email contact@nueltekglobalresources.com first: most problems can be settled that way. If not, the courts of Nigeria will decide.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on Rifilio or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Rifilio after that, the new terms apply.
