Play chess with your friends. Talk while you play.

Rifilio puts the board and the conversation in one place: calls and voice notes with your opponent, a hall where friends watch and cheer, and six computer characters for when nobody's free.

Hear how a game goes

Paul Morphy's Opera Game, played in Paris in 1858, replayed the way it would go on Rifilio: two friends on a call, one of them about to lose a queen and win anyway.

Talk like you're at the same table

Call your opponent straight from the game, or send a voice note when typing is too slow. Calls are just the two of you, and your microphone only turns on when you press Call or Accept.

  • One-to-one voice calls
  • Voice notes and chat
  • Calls are never recorded

Bring the whole group chat

Send friends a link to watch live. They cheer, groan and predict in the hall, its own chat beside the board, while what you say to your opponent stays between you two.

  • A hall for every game
  • Watchers never see your chat
  • Hide the hall any time

Friends between games

Message friends whenever you like, in text or voice notes, and challenge them from the conversation. If they're away, they get one short email so the game doesn't wait forever.

  • Chats with friends
  • Challenges in one tap
  • Rematch when it's over

Nobody free? Six characters always are.

Warm up against Ekaette, who is still learning the moves, and climb all the way to Grandmaster Tobe and his thirty years of club chess. Practice games with no clock, kept off your record.

Fair games, kind company

  • The server checks every move and runs both clocks.
  • Your microphone turns on only when you choose.
  • Watchers see the hall, never your private chat.
  • Report or block anyone, from any message.
